Gift of Now ("the app") helps you spend less time in social media feeds. It is developed by Vadym Lishchynskyi ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app accesses on your phone, what (little) leaves your phone, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your app usage data stays on your phone. We never upload, sell or share it.
- There are no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Crash reports contain technical details only, never which apps you use.
- Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.
1. What the app accesses on your phone
To do its job, the app needs some permissions. Each is used only for the purpose below.

2. Data stored on your phone
- Your settings: chosen apps, daily limits, protection mode and the goals you picked ("Sleep", "Focus" and so on).
- Today's usage: how long each chosen app was used, to enforce your limits.
- Pending changes: rule changes waiting for their 24-hour delay.
- Partner PIN (optional): stored only as a salted, one-way hash in the phone's secure storage. Nobody, including us, can read the PIN from it.
This data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. It is never sent to us.
3. Crash reports
To find and fix bugs, the app sends crash reports to our service provider Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., https://sentry.io/privacy/). A crash report contains the error and where it happened in the code, the app version, the device model and the operating system version. It does not contain app names, usage times, your PIN, your settings or anything that identifies you. Crash reports are deleted automatically within 90 days.
4. Analytics
The app currently sends no analytics. A future version may send anonymous, aggregated counts (for example, "the pause screen was shown 12 times today") to learn whether the app helps. These counts will never include app names or anything that identifies you. We will update this policy before that happens.
5. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone. The only data that leaves your phone is the crash reports described above, processed by Sentry on our behalf.
6. Security
Data stays on your device, protected by your phone's own security. The partner PIN is stored as a salted hash, never as plain text. Crash reports are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
7. Your choices and rights
- You can turn off any permission at any time in your phone's Settings. Some features stop working without them.
- You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU), you may have the right to access or delete personal data we hold. Since we hold no personal data on our servers, there is usually nothing to access. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
8. Children
Gift of Now is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
